(FOX 2) – Cruising the neighborhood on two wheels is a rite of passage for kids, but not all get that opportunity.
That’s where the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Re-cycle For Kids program comes in. The program collects, refurbishes and has made hundreds of bikes available at no cost through a variety of non-profit organizations who serve clients in need.
Joining FOX 2 is Sheriff Michael Bouchard, along with Dan Gutfreund of Dan Gutfreund Realty Group, who’s helping kick off this year’s efforts with a big donation.
To kick off the program this spring, the Gutfreund team is donating 50 new bikes and is encouraging the community to join them.

Items accepted: New or used bikes, bike accessories
Drop Off Date/Time: May 18 -May 19 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Birmingham or bikes may be dropped off in advance at 1-800-Self-Storage.com locations in Oak Park or Troy
